SPS helps housing providers grow garage site revenues by up to 150 per cent

Housing associations and local authorities have seen annual revenue from their garage sites increase by an average of 58 per cent, since they began working with Secure Parking and Storage.

In some longer-term partnerships, such as SettleParadigm, annual revenue has increased by more than 150 per cent compared to when the partnership began in 2012. Even more recent partners, such as Dartford Borough Council (29 per cent) or RHP (8 per cent), have seen revenue grow in the first year of their relationship with SPS.

Across all of SPS’s housing provider clients, annual revenue from garage sites is up more than £3.8m. This additional income has been used by housing providers to bolster services and, in one case, provide additional welfare support payments to eligible customers.

Matt Vosper, Director of Operations at Secure Parking and Storage, said: “For many housing providers, garages are an underutilised asset, often generating minimal income, attracting fly-tipping or antisocial behaviour and creating management challenges. We’ve been able to work in partnership with housing providers and local authorities across England to help maximise value and transform spaces for residents.

“By combining operational expertise and a proven commercial model, Secure Parking and Storage has helped landlords achieve significant, sustained revenue growth, while also improving safety, reducing antisocial behaviour and unlocking long-term asset value.”

Across housing clients, SPS has consistently delivered double and even triple-digit percentage increases in revenue from garage assets.

Examples include:

    • Paradigm Housing Group – has achieved a revenue increase of over 150% since SPS took over management of Paradigm garages.
    • Orbit Group – has seen revenues rise by approximately 128%, helping support reinvestment into wider community and estate improvements.
    • Alliance Homes and Peabody – experienced growth of around 83%.
    • A2Dominion and Watford Community Housing – have both achieved revenue uplifts of around 68%, reinforcing the consistency of SPS’s delivery across different regions and stock profiles.
    • Ealing Council – has seen revenues grow by over 56%, while Accent Housing has achieved growth of more than 52%.

While revenue growth is a key outcome, SPS’s impact extends beyond financial performance.

As a result of SPS’s work, clients consistently report a reduction in ASB due to improved appearance and safety of sites. As well as this, the responsibility of management is taken on by

SPS, freeing up time for housing teams. Resident satisfaction is increased, resulting in overall gratification in communities.

Matt added: “By bringing garages back into active, positive use, SPS helps housing providers tackle long-standing estate challenges while delivering an income stream that can be reinvested into homes and communities.

“SPS boasts a growing portfolio of housing associations, councils and registered providers and as a result, we’re proud to be recognised as a trusted specialist for the sector in garage management. We have a deep understanding of the housing sector and work collaboratively with housing teams to deliver measurable results, for both the client and the community.”
